Terms of Use
Last updated May 2026
These Terms describe the simple agreement between you and Travellly when you visit this site, read an article, subscribe to the newsletter, or send us your work. We have tried to write them the way we write everything else here: in calm, plain language a real person can finish in one cup of coffee. If something is unclear, write to us — these terms are meant to be a starting point for a conversation, not a wall.
By using the site you agree to what follows. If you do not agree with a section, the right move is to close the tab and email us your objection at travellly.info@gmail.com. We read every message and we update this page when readers point out something that genuinely needs to change.
1. Who we are
Travellly is an independent travel and lifestyle publication operated by a small editorial team. We publish long-form articles, photo essays, packing guides, and slow-travel reportage. We are not a booking platform, not a marketplace, and not a social network — we are a magazine that happens to live on the internet.
2. What you can do with our articles
You are welcome, without asking, to do the following:
- Read every article on the site, on any device, free of charge.
- Save articles for offline reading using your browser's built-in reader.
- Share links to articles on any platform — including private messages, social media, and email newsletters.
- Quote up to roughly two paragraphs in your own writing, as long as you credit "Travellly" and link back to the original article.
- Print a single copy of an article for personal, non-commercial reading (for example, to read on a flight).
You need our written permission before you do any of the following:
- Republish a full article on another website, newsletter, or print publication.
- Translate an article into another language and publish that translation.
- Use our photography, illustrations, or video as part of a product, advertisement, or AI training dataset.
- Sell or redistribute any part of the site, including scraping articles into a paid app or feed.
To request permission, email permissions@travellly.media with the article URL, where you intend to republish, and the audience size. We answer most requests within a week and we usually say yes for non-commercial and educational use.
3. What you contribute back
If you write to us — comments by email, a pitch for a story, a correction, a photograph you took on a trip we covered — you keep the copyright in your own words and images. By sending them to us you give us permission to quote, edit, and publish your contribution on the site and in the newsletter, with credit, unless you ask us in writing to keep it private.
For longer contributions — guest essays, photo essays, or paid commissions — we sign a separate contributor agreement that spells out the rights, the fee, and the kill-fee if the piece does not run. See the Contribute page for how that works in practice.
4. The newsletter
Subscribing to the newsletter is free and reversible. We send one letter a week, sometimes a second one for a special issue, and nothing else. There is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email; one click is enough. If the link ever fails, reply to the email with the word "unsubscribe" and we will remove you by hand.
5. Honest editorial practice
We pay for our own travel where we can and we disclose any trip, hotel, or product that was provided to us at no cost. Sponsored content is clearly labelled at the top of the article. We never let an advertiser see, approve, or change editorial copy before it runs. If we get something wrong, we correct it at the bottom of the article and note the date of the correction.
6. Things we cannot promise
Travel advice ages quickly. Trains get re-routed, restaurants close, visa rules change overnight. We do our best to keep articles accurate at the time of publication and to revisit popular guides once a year, but you should always confirm prices, hours, visa requirements, and safety information directly with the relevant source before you book or pack. We are not liable for any loss, delay, injury, or disappointment that follows from acting on something you read here — the articles are inspiration and orientation, not a substitute for your own judgement or for professional advice from a doctor, lawyer, or licensed travel agent.
The site is provided "as is". We try very hard to keep it online and free of bugs, but we cannot promise it will be available every minute of every day, or that every link will always work.
7. How to behave in our spaces
Whether you are emailing us, replying on social media, or commenting on a future community feature, please be kind. We will remove and, if necessary, block messages that are harassing, racist, homophobic, threatening, or that publish someone else's private information. Disagreement is welcome — cruelty is not.
8. Changes to these terms
When we make a meaningful change to this page we update the "last updated" date at the top and, for larger changes, mention it in the next newsletter. Continued use of the site after a change counts as acceptance of the new version. If you ever want to read a previous version, write to us and we will send it.
9. Getting in touch
For anything in this document — questions, permission requests, corrections, or just a hello — write to travellly.info@gmail.com. A real person will answer.
